Guide II - Text Editor
This guide shows how to transcribe a video into a MindNote, save it from the editor, and locate it on the My Notes dashboard. You will then learn how to enable collaborative sharing, generate and open a shareable link, and let others edit the note or create their own copy.

View the existing note in the editor
The screen shows a MindNote editor page with a note titled Productivity . The main text area contains several paragraphs, and a toolbar of buttons appears below it, including a microphone icon for speech-related actions. At the bottom there is an instruction input field and a Process button.

Highlight the speech to text button
The same note editor is visible, but the cursor is hovering over the microphone icon in the toolbar below the note, visually indicating which button will be used for speech to text.

Click the Speech to Text button
In the note toolbar, the user clicks the microphone-labeled Speech to text button beneath the text area to open speech transcription options.

View live Speech to Text dialog
A Speech to Text dialog appears over the note. It is set to Live mode, shows a Language dropdown set to English (US), and a large Start Recording button for live dictation.

Switch Speech to Text to Video mode
Inside the Speech to Text dialog, the user clicks the Video tab, changing the panel to accept a video URL instead of live recording.

Enter a video URL for transcription
The Speech to Text dialog in Video mode shows a Video URL input with placeholder text indicating you can paste links from YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, or similar, and a disabled Transcribe Video button below it.

Open the source video on YouTube
The browser switches to a YouTube page where a video is loaded. The address bar at the top shows the video’s URL, which will be copied and used in MindNote for transcription.

Return to the editor after adding the video URL
Back in MindNote, the Speech to Text dialog is visible again with the video section over the note. The editor content now shows short lines that look like initial transcript results, and the user clicks inside the note area below to position the cursor.

The main note text box containing several short transcript lines is focused. The user clicks within this large text area, preparing to edit or continue adding content.

Open Speech to Text dialog again from toolbar
With the shorter transcript visible in the note, the user clicks the microphone Speech to text button once more in the toolbar to reopen the dialog.

The Speech to Text dialog disappears and the Productivity note’s main text area is now filled with a long continuous transcript paragraph, showing that the video transcription has been inserted into the note.

The Productivity editor now shows a heading line such as Transcription of "How to Enjoy & Remember Every Lecture", followed by the opening sentences of the video’s transcript, confirming successful import.

Click Save Note for the transcribed content
With the transcript visible in the text area, the user clicks the black Save Note button on the right side of the editor to store the updated note in their workspace.

The interface switches to the My Notes dashboard. Under Groups, the first card labeled Productivity shows a preview of the note with the thumbnail image and a snippet of the content, confirming the save.

On the My Notes dashboard, the user clicks the Productivity group chip in the Groups row, narrowing the view to notes assigned to that group.

In the Share Note dialog, the user clicks the mode toggle, switching it from the collaborative option to a Private (read-only) setting so that viewers can only read the note.
